Thin black frames and big panes of glass: the look is the same whether the door is steel or aluminium designed to look like steel. What differs is where the door goes and what it has to do. Here is how our three systems divide the work.
Inside: PI30 hot-rolled steel
PI30 is our slim-profile steel system for internal doors, screens and partitions. Frames are hot-rolled steel, glazed with tempered glass in clear, reeded or frosted finishes, and finished in matt black RAL 9005 or blackened steel. It comes as single and double doors, doors with sidelights and toplights, sliding and bi-folding doors and fixed screens. It also takes our door styles, eight glazing bar layouts for period and contemporary rooms.
PI30 is not a fire door. If an internal opening needs a fire rating, our steel fire doors keep the same slim look.
Outside, in steel: ARTE2.0
ARTE2.0 is a thermally broken, galvanised steel system for external doors. The thermal break limits heat loss through the frame, which plain steel can't do. Doors are double or triple glazed with tempered glass, have multipoint locking as standard, and are powder coated in RAL colours with an anti-corrosion finish. Arched single and double doors are part of the system, made with bent profiles and curved glass.
Outside, in aluminium: RSL38
RSL38 is aluminium designed to look like slim steel, for external windows as well as doors. It is triple glazed with tempered glass and achieves a U-value below 0.9 W/m²K, with multipoint locking as standard. Glass can be clear, frosted, solar control or acoustic. It covers the widest range of openings of the three: hinged and arched doors, tilt and turn balcony doors, tilt and turn and fixed windows, and fixed screens.
Which one?
- An internal door, screen or partition: PI30.
- An external door where you want real steel, or an arch: ARTE2.0.
- External windows and doors that need to match, or a published U-value: RSL38.
