Lift and Slide or Sliding? Choosing a Wide Aluminium Door

Lift and Slide or Sliding? Choosing a Wide Aluminium Door

For a wide opening onto a garden or terrace, a hinged door runs out of room quickly. Our three wide aluminium systems slide instead. All three are triple glazed with tempered glass, achieve a U-value below 0.7 W/m²K, have multipoint locking, and are powder coated in RAL colours. The differences are in how they open and how much frame you see.

LS77HI lift and slide

LS77HI is a lift and slide door for wide external openings. On a lift and slide door, turning the handle lifts the leaf off its seals so it glides, then lowers it back onto them to close.

SD25 Slim lift and slide

SD25 Slim works on the same lift and slide principle, with slimmer sightlines. Choose it when you want as little frame as possible.

HF Slim sliding

HF Slim is a slim-frame sliding door available with two or three leaves. Three leaves let more of the opening clear when the door is open.

Before you order: thresholds and tracks

Sliding doors need level thresholds, so check the structural opening early. If you want the track sunk into the floor for a flush finish, we provide drawings with the correct dimensions. Hidden track options are available, priced on the number of tracks and leaves and the size of the door.

Glass

Large panes are where glazing choices pay off. Acoustic glazing up to 51 dB, solar control glass and integral blinds are all available. See our guide to glazing options.
